Mapping out Corbett Brook Nature Trail

Our Scout Group recently applied for an environmental grant from Loblaw to clean up the Corbett Brook Nature Trail. On December 4, 2010, we had an afternoon of mapping the trail to get a feel for how much work would have to be done. Thomas, Scouter Ken and Scouter Lars were in attendance.
We found this shopping cart in the woods and Ken decided to give Thomas a break from hiking. We were thinking it would be nice to take with us to collect garbage along the way, but decided it didn't have big enough tires to make it through the trail. Maybe next time we'll customize it with some monster truck tires?
Soon after we started out on the trail, rations were running low and tempers were running short. Thomas and I had a battle but he won.
We almost lost Scouter Ken at this point. The brush was so thick that I wasn't sure if he was walking forward or being pulled back in. This trail needs a lot of work!
Our troop still has a few more details to iron out before we can start planning work on this trail, but it looks like it will be a fun challenge! I'm looking forward to working with our group on it.
