Chief Scout Awards

On June 18, 2013, 5th Fredericton held a special meeting to invest four new members in the Troop and one new leader. Welcome to Scouter Ayten and Scouts Camelle, Tata, Jake and Daniel.

During this meeting, Pathfinder Scouts Jonathan and Eleanor also received their Chief Scout Badges.  This is the highest level award that can be earned at the Scout Level.

His Honour Graydon Nicholas, Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick and Honorary Patron of Scouting in New Brunswick joined us to make a special presentation of the Chief Scout Badges to Jonathan and Eleanor. Our most sincere thanks to His Honour for this presentation.

Sincere thanks as well to the Ladies at St. Andrews for putting together refreshments following the presentations.

Congratulations to Jonathan and Eleanor. The Chief Scout Award takes a lot of hard work and dedication, great work you two!

June 2, 2013

Sorry for the very late update. 5th Fredericton Scouts and Venturers had a great flatwater weekend at Spednic Lake from May 31 to June 2, 2013. Thanks to Scouter John for joining us.

On Friday, May 31 we were on the water by about 7:00 PM and spent the night at Big Island.

On Saturday mornign we were up bright and early. After breakfast we repacked our gear and headed out for Upper Palfrey. We arrived at our campsite late in the afternoon. After getting out tents set up, we did some more paddling and some fishing. Almost everyone caught at least one bass. Sorry Scouter Ken :)

Here are a few pictures, more to come.
